Hey, guess what? I have finally gotten my nightmare of a nasty, very steep learning curve semi-mastered enough that I can continue crafting my free blogging site, Your Global Guys Community of Curious People in this, our Curious World located at yourglobalguy.net. Yeah, I know, not a very original concept, but it is free and starting to shape up.

So, what’s the big deal you ask? Well, allow me to share.

Two of my web sites, alaskaandlife.com along with this one (yourglobalguy.com) were being hosted by Wordblogsphere.com whose gracious web master, Gene, is a friend of mine because I didn’t want to go through the learning curve to set up and run a site on my own, however all good things must end and one day it became time for me to quit procrastinating and to take the helm and responsibility for my own sites.

What I discovered; the complex process is definitely not for the feint of heart! It is a veritable minefield of things to learn and do, one misstep or another has the potential for catastrophic and network wide impact that can bring a website and its web-master to their knees. Which it has done and will occasionally repeat in a great show of love . . . not.

I will likely use this site to chronicle my efforts and to share any insights gained at the expense of my sanity during the course of this journey.
