America’s Obituary
The essential principles of our Government form “the bright constellation which has gone before us and guided our steps.” – Thomas Jefferson . . . and then his spirit departed the building, Christmas 2009.
A friend emailed the bulk of this message to me today; I added the header image, exchanged the word America for Obituary and added ‘by presidential fiat’ along with the Jefferson quote and my comment. Although I dislike the socialist agenda promoted by the Obama administration, I believe that in his heart he believes himself to be acting in the best interest of America. But I also believe him to be naive and misguided.
After reading the email, I looked up the good Professor Olson via the internet and discovered that yes, he does exist. But that doesn’t necessarily mean that he authored the following information, or illustrate its intended purpose; perhaps it was nothing more than to get students thinking. Regardless, it is interesting.
It does not hurt to read this several times.
Professor Joseph Olson of Hamline University School of Law, St. Paul, Minnesota,
points out some interesting facts concerning last November’s Presidential election:
- Number of States won by: Obama: 19 McCain: 29
- Square miles of land won by: Obama: 580,000 McCain: 2,427,000
- Population of counties won by: Obama: 127 milloin McCain: 143 million
- Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by: Obama: 13.2 McCain: 2.1
Professor Olson adds: “In aggregate, the map of the territory McCain won was mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens of the country.
Obama territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in low income tenements and living off various forms of government welfare…”
Olson believes the United States is now somewhere between the “complacency and apathy” phase of Professor Tyler’s definition of democracy, with some forty percent of the nation’s population already having reached the “governmental dependency” phase.
What follows appears to have been added by someone with an agenda. We may all have our favorite issues and the matter of immigration is a sensitive point with me; if I had to do things all over again, such as go through the immigration processes legally, I would opt to sneak my wife in through Mexico. Why? It’s cheaper, faster and carries with it more benefits. It’s an abominable government agency whose mismanagement is of epic proportions.
America can not continue to be the world’s police force or welfare office, even if it fits into a socialists’ agenda and his world view of Utopia. Nor can we afford to make retribution to minority groups 150 years after the fact. Where does that silliness end? In my family tree there are native branches, asian branches, african branches, hispanic branches and european branches; were we to make retribution payments for past egregious actions the funds would wind up on a never ending recirculating cycle.
Further, with regards to slavery in this country; what are we to do historically with black slave owners, native slave owners or hispanic slave owners? Groups that are all crying foul because they were mistreated at some point. And what about those euro-mutt abusers, some that came to the america’s as indentured servants? And what about our children’s future that is being burdened with our collective debts so that WE can ‘get ours’ now?
Can they obtain retroactive retribution from the estates of Obama, Pelosi, Reid and the other progressives that have auctioned off their future? No, those slave seller have pretty effectively exempted and insulation themselves from suits resulting from their malfeasance.
Does anyone out there grasp the concept that socialism inspires and propagates a welfare mentally and very real dependency? Being a ward of the state is a form of slavery or indentured servitude to a master, our government. When we are collectively dependent upon them for all of our basic needs, they do have the power of life and death over all of us; further to fund this Utopian vision, they’re selling our debt to our enemies. Smart eh??? Not really, when another entity controls the debt owed by a person, group, city, state or national government~they essentially own them. In this case, them is US.
If Congress grants amnesty and citizenship to twenty million criminal invaders called illegals and they vote, then we can say goodbye to the USA in fewer than five years.
Why, you ask? I suggest that you back up and reread the start of this post, you have missed the point. America as a nation was founded on biblical principles (like it or not), that brought with it great anecdotal wisdom and stabilizing rules of life to guide our actions for the benefit of ourselves and society at large.
For you modern atheists, there doesn’t appear to be a codex that imparts your collective wisdom down from the ages, so live with it; those atheists that contributed in the drafting the Constitution allowed for the wisdom contained within the pages of the bible in its many forms.
Back to my point, the anecdotal wisdom included the value of self reliance, independence, not being slothful, greedy, lazy or dependent upon anyone other than our creator. So, were we to willfully ignore that wisdom and become dependent upon the government to ‘get ours’, why should we open our doors and allow 20 million more slices of that pie to be doled out. Logic suggests that our slice would be ‘smaller.’
And here’s a warning shot ~ we are nearly at a tipping point in our crazed welfare plan; that point where there are more folks taking than there are those that are giving. The rich are about played out financially or are smart enough to leave the country to a more friendly environment. So, where would that leave our welfare gravy train and those of us foolish enough to ride on it? We would be indentured servants to whomever owns our country’s debt; which right now is the Chinese for the most part. Can you say, re-education camps? That’s where you learn to toil and serve your new master 18hours a day until they get tired, you die or you come to your senses and escape.
So, I say no to socialism, no to a welfare state, no to America being the world’s policeman, no to being the worlds welfare office, no to open borders; but yes to reasonable immigration laws, yes to flat taxes, yes to term limits, hell yes to being self sufficient as a country and hell yes to American founding principles.
If you are in favor of this, then by all means, delete this message.
They are railing against unfettered immigration, whereas I am referring to the selling out of America by our current crop of politicians and sold as bond servants for a debt we didn’t get to vote on. Can you say, 12.3 trillion as of 1:36pm Alaska time. Divide 12.3 trillion by our population and work out for yourselves the share of debt each individual American owns. It’s staggering when you consider that most of us could not walk in to a bank and qualify for a cash loan of that amount; so why are we letting our government do it to us? (visit this site for an eye opener ~ http://www.usdebtclock.org)
If you are not, then pass this along to help everyone realize just how much is at stake, knowing that apathy is the greatest danger to our freedom.
Do what you like with this information, but don’t blame me for your inaction and the results that will befall us all, just don’t expect me to roll over and purr.

I think the US has more to fear from the nutty right wing, the extreme fundamentalists, who covet power and all its trappings, and the imperial minded neoconservatves. All of them use fear as a tactic to advance their agenda. This was a nation founded by Christians, but it is not a Christian nation. If it were, it would have said so in the Constitution. To the contrary, the Constitution specifically bans any religious oath for any public office. Furthermore, the Treaty of Tripoli, supported by 100% of the Senate, and signed into law by Pres. John Adams, stated that we were not a Christian nation. Many of the prominent Founding Fathers were deists and educated in the ways of the Enlightenment. A number of them were Freemasons, who accepted God in the broadest way. Don’t try to revise that history.

Will, you aren’t the educated progressive and enlightened joy to contend with that you perceive yourself to be; “Don’t try to revise history,” amusing, but insipid. The founders and framers of the Constitution deliberately underpinned its core with Judeo-Christian principles because they understood the value and need for a familiar common measure and standard with which to anchor the legal system of a budding new country. There have been many that have tried to usurp the founders well framed work and are still attempting to do so; it remains underpinned by those same Judeo-Christians principles.
The nation was not founded, “by Christians,” it was founded by conservative men of principle and conviction of diverse spiritual beliefs.
Nutty right wing extreme fundamentalists broke away from the rule of England and formed this country with their blood, sweat and tears; the enlightened liberals of the day wanted to appease the crown and remain under its authority.
Whose revisionist history have you been studying?
