Orble, I warned ya, I Ain’t Gonna Take It Anymore
A short while back, I ran away from what was once a mecca of high intellectual mischief on a “family friendly” site that sadly, devolved into a war zone. Progressive vs conservative vs scholar vs atheist vs theist vs right vs wrong vs anything that was even the slightest bit controversial to a minuscule core group of uninspired blogging hacks . Hubris shouted down humor, ego bullied intellect and everyone was diminished when even god was kicked out of the gene pool. Civility was kicked to the curb, vengeful cliques waged war with even the innocents.
Vicious, sexually explicit personal attacks were launched against bloggers, their families, friends and even their pets; complaints to management went ignored, clarification of rules were declined, enforcement of the rules became capricious at best.
I have been reluctant to blog since leaving the Orble circle and still find the bile taste from the experience gnawing at my innards. But . . . still, there are those moments.
Moments when I really do miss the company of those wonderful miscreants and denizens who have left Orble for greener pastures, those PC oblivious bloggers whose rapier like wit, sharp tongue and daunting intellect dazzled, irritated, enraged and challenged us all. Ran off by a howling mob filled with gaseous crappola and vile syntax that they attempt to pass off as blogging, story telling or sic, journalism.
So, here it is, I am breaking the silence that has been deafening and as menacing as any dark shadow in an alley. I ain’t gonna take it anymore, I’ve decided to speak out about my painful experiences and let them stand naked before the world-spinning dildo icons be damned, in fact~stuff’em.
Ruefully, Orble is becoming a wasteland; the wishes of the few have come true.

Orble huh?
What it once was has passed.
I never let people stay rent free in my head.

Oh, hey guys, welcome to the Global Guy. You’re right, it’s been to long since we could hang out and exchange thoughts.

Hi Nevar.
Thanks for telling me about your blog. It looks great. Love the Happy Everything picture too.
And I’m glad you got over your reluctance to blog since leaving Orble. What’s sad about Orble is it probably put some people (who may not have actually said much) off Orble for good. I wonder if the people that are left are happy.

If they aren’t subjected to the former levels of predatory behavior, they shouldn’t be unhappy.
Thank you for popping in.

I’m still happy at Orble … but then I made a concerted effort not to get caught up in the mudslinging match(es) …. I have a large bunch of loyal readers, and on some days rather heavy traffic, but I definitely miss some of the people who left Orble.
I don’t miss the nastiness though.
By Bryn on Dec 21, 2009
Yup, the nastiness was horrible; because I felt that I contributed to it by just being there, I left the building.
You’ve got a great thing going on. BTW, what’s your take on Avatar?
Thanks for visiting.

Hiya Sky, I am glad you popped over for a visit ~ yup, Orble and I have parted company. I took down the bulk of my posts (several hundred) and left the building. Much happier now. Luv Ya Lady-hugs n stuff.

Mr. tlcorbin, I certainly feel the same way as you do about the predators and miscreants at Orble. Last year, I started up a blog on the Orble site named “American Idol Chatter”, focusing exclusively on the American TV reality show by the same name. My readership grew huge almost instantly, and I thoroughly enjoyed submitting a daily entry. After two days of posting I was asked by one of the management, Charles, to take over an abandoned blog, an offer which I declined thereafter due to the fact that I could not retain the “American Idol Chatter” name. I continued to write under the old name. About a month into the blog, I started getting all these strange, loopy communications from a couple of (alleged) writers on the site telling me that the blog was no good and they were tired of reading my stuff. LOL! I have been writing for years professionally, and never heard anything like the vicious comments coming from some of these knuckleheads. I eventually tired of reading all their spewing venom, and decided to leave Orble.
Orble had a good reputation as a blog site, but, honestly, I was astounded to see the degree of ferocity its so-called authors went to bully other authors. I chalked it up to jealousy that my blog was getting far more readers and positive votes than their music/entertainment blogs.

Hello Davido, it is sad that the few have been vitriolic and mean spirited enough to attack your work, and probably you on a personal level. You picked a great topic and one that should have evoked entertaining interaction via the comments, but . . . frail egos being what they are, some self appointed maven(s) suffered a melt down compelling a knee jerk reaction. Personally, I’d reclaim your blog. Shrug off the creeps and should they continue their vile behavior, block their comments. The minute you drop your blog, one of the miscreants will discover some compelling reason to plagiarize your topic and material.
A sidebar: Honestly, I suspect that one or more of your detractors has a vested interest in Orble and as a result, are granted tremendous leeway from Jon, Charles and management in general. Thank you for taking the time to comment.
